Acropolis Timed-Entry & Greek Archaeological Site Tickets (2025/2026 Rules)

How Greece's updated €30 Acropolis timed-entry system works, why the old €30 multi-site combo ticket was retired, EU under-25 free entry, and official hhticket.gr booking tips.

1. Important 2025/2026 Update: Individual Timed-Entry Tickets

In April 2025, the Hellenic Ministry of Culture overhauled archaeological site pricing across Greece and discontinued the old €30 5-day Athens Combined Ticket. Today, every major site is booked individually with a strict hourly timed-entry slot on the official state portal (hhticket.gr):

  • Acropolis of Athens & Slopes: €30 (strict 1-hour entry window; arrive 15 minutes before your slot)
  • Acropolis Museum: €20 (separate museum ticket booked at theacropolismuseum.gr)
  • Ancient Agora of Athens / Temple of Hephaestus: €20
  • Temple of Olympian Zeus / Roman Agora / Hadrian's Library: €10 – €15
  • Palace of Knossos (Crete), Delphi, Olympia, Epidaurus, Mycenae, Akrotiri & Lindos: €20 each
  • Temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounion & Sacred Island of Delos: €20 each

2. Who Gets Free or 50% Reduced Entry?

  • EU Citizens Under 25 Years Old: €0 (100% Free) at all state-run archaeological sites upon presenting an EU passport or national ID card at the ticket booth (you still select a €0 timed-entry slot online for the Acropolis).
  • Non-EU Visitors Under 18 Years Old: €0 (100% Free) with passport proof of age.
  • EU Seniors (65+): 50% reduced admission (€15 at the Acropolis, €10 at Tier-2 sites) between October 1 and May 31.
  • Free Museum Sundays: Admission to state archaeological sites is free for all visitors on the first and third Sunday of every month from November 1 to March 31, as well as March 6, April 18, May 18, and the last weekend of September.
